One more image from last trip to Kruger Park. Although I like the action, I'm not sure about the background.
Any comments are appreciated.

If you were a little more to your right Jefferson then the preening bird 'might' be more in view. The fill-in has helped the shadows for sure. I would just run a filter over that top left to reduce the lighter area so you can have a more balance backdrop and it would help with the LH subjects head.

Good suggestion from Steve. A more complicated approach, but should help your BG more would be to select the birds and perch, create a separate layer of them then average the underlying layer, then fade the averaging to bring out some detail.

I like the action and detail in the bird and the perch.  If you could not change your position to get more greenery in the background , perhaps trying some different post processing techniques to fill in the highlights.  Overall, nice image.

Nice combination of poses, Jefferson, and I like the composition.  Most of the bg works for me, but larger oof branch on the left does draw my eye and I'd probably remove it.
