Wadsworth Falls +RP

Wadsworth Falls, Middletown, CT in higher than average spring flow. I had just a few minutes with the light spilling into the background before the clouds took over.

2 exposure blend:
1/5 at f/11, ISO100 for the falls and land
1.6s at f/16, ISO100 for the foreground water

I don't love the placement of the falls so high in the frame, but there is a fenced-in viewing platform just above the top right. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the placement, and any other comments.

I really like the low angle you chose.
I might lower the whites a tad.

Dan, good call on the whites. I tend to leave them a little bright. Here's a new version.

Craig,

Nice job on the repost, I was going to make the same comment; now there is some texture and detail in the falls.

I really like the low angle perspective. It works especially well because of the longer exposure and streaking foam.  I imagine that without the streaks, one might not even consider the comp?  Interesting too, even thought clearly the water is running towards the camera, those streaks still pull the viewer in to the frame to enjoy the powerful falls.

Well seen and crafted.

This is working for me. I love the perspective. The water lines really pull me into the image well! Nice job on the repost.

Good job on the repost, Craig. I might clone away that solitary bright spot just to the left and above the falls.

Craig, I like the repost too and the extra detail it added in the falls. The motion / streaking of the foreground water looks very good as well. Nice job on this.

The placement is high, but if you cropped it tighter you would lose those nice streaks in the water below. I think you've chose the best balance considering the platform. The water in the repost does look better.
