Flooded with light

Maybe it is new for you this plant (Nigella Damascena) native in South Europe and not easy to find in the fields here too. Its flowers are nice but not easy to photograph in a decent way because are very complicated. That's way I decided to simplify the photo taking the flower back lit against the sky with plenty of light and a blown up sky.

D800E, Nikkor 200mm macro - f/19 and ISO 250.

Gigi, I knew this was yours from the thumbnail, and I liked it at that size. The large view is incredible! Great detail and handling of the whites against the white sky. The blue, yellow and green color palette is beautiful. Great work!

Beautiful, Gigi. I really like the light in this and you got the white-on-white just right to clearly delineate the flower. A nice angle in the frame as well.

I planted some of these from seed last year, Gigi, and I have coming back up - and I planted some more in a pot this year. This is really nicely done. I think your choice to shoot it high-key, against the sky, works really well. Nice portrait of this bloom!
