National Wildlife has used my monarch image in their June/July issue. The short article is called "Pinpointing monarch birthplaces" (page 8).</div> </div> <div> <div>The 40 year study shows the difficulty of trying to protect a species that ranges over more than a million square miles in three countries.. It is beautiful, Howard.  I can see how it was used in the National Wildlife magazine!  It is concern, both for our butterflies and our bees.  This image looks like he is leaving us!  Perfect for their article, I am sure.

Congratulations Howard. This is an excellent in flight shot of the Monarch. Perfect DOF and clarity against a great BG. Can't get much better than this one in my book.

Leaping butterflies, Howard!  Congrats on having National Wildlife use this image.  It's a great look at this Monarch taking off from this flower with a wonderfully complementary background.

I just saw it (downloaded their app) digitally.  I am not a subscriber to their magazine. Probably shot, but I don't have time it seems for reading magazines!  Anyway, it was good seeing it there, and congratulations!

Glad to see that NWF is using such a fine image for a good cause.  The excellence of this image is a result of all the work you put into planning and executing shoots like this.  It takes a lot of time, experience, patience, and dedication.

Excellent image and congratulations on having it selected by National Wildlife.  They obviously know how to select the best.  The Monarch population has dropped significantly here over the past several years.  There were never many though.  The natural milkweed locations seem unchanged.
