Here's a breeding plumage Sanderling from the Texas coast photographed on the Bolivar Peninsula a few weeks ago.

Very beautiful, Nate. I love the odd reflection, presumably from a small ripple? The lifted foot makes for a nice pose and the light was wonderful.

Thanks Dennis, I'm not sure of the reason for the odd reflection but I was getting a lot of strange reflections in the areas where the water had just retreated from as the tide went in and out.

A good lesson on why getting down to eye level makes for great bird photos. This is a beautiful shot of a Sanderling. The detail, the light, the background all come together for a fine shot.

Excellent low angle and great light, Nate. Yeah, that reflection is really strange, some kind of weird refraction(?)

Yes, this is an interesting reflection. It almost looks as if he's walking on a sheet of burnished aluminum. I like the color and detail. Looks like a sunset photo with a nice sky in the background.

A beautiful image, Nate. Great light, a nice low perspective and I really like that partial reflection.

Absolutely perfect in every way, Nate! The low point of view really made this shot outstanding.
