Paper Wasp

A pair of brown paper wasps have started off their little nest on a plant at home. The two tone bg is partially the color of the wall, and the bright green is the leaves.
Made this on very cloudy evening.
Love these wasps.. and sure I have sting due some time. Its a question of time. The 70 200 helps me keep some distance.☺
>> You may notice that the first capsule on top is sealed off, there is a little one growing inside, and another insect subdued and kept along the growing wasp for food ?
>> At the bottom most capsule you can see an egg, thought its out of the dof.
Tripod at 6 feet, and at 1/25, its a challenge. I had been shooting this pair for about 3 hours today. Late in the evening when its activity reduced, it was still for a short while. Continuous shooting to the max of 7D.

Wow!  I will say it again, WOW!  Such detail in this wasp, and in it's future home, Balan.  I don't know if I could have done that without a whole bunch of camera shake, fearing that I was going to get stung.  I think that background is perfect, to help make him stand out too.  Well done!

Hi Balan,

I like the texture in the exoskeleton.  It seems to be a very short and squat species compared to the ones that I'm familiar with in North America.  Overall, you may want to reduce the saturation down just a hair.   Other than, a nice macro shot of mom and her nest...........................Jim

The colors and details in the wasp are great Balan.  The details in the nest are also great.  The flat light really lets the details and the colors show.  The background transition for house to leaves looks good.  I guess you'll just have to carry your house around as a background...enlightened
