While out in Oregon last Spring, I found this small patch of liverworts growing near the parking lot at where we were staying.  I was able snag this shot between bouts of rain. 180 mm f3.5 (1.6 sec, 4.0, 6.0  sec at f22, ISO 100). 3 shots compiled as an HDR, Topaz Detail..................................Jim

Jim,   As a student of Botany, I really like this.  Few people would photograph a liverwort.  I like the composition and the handling of the DOF.  My only comment (besides that I really like the shot) is that the seedling at the bottom is a bit of a distraction to me.

That's a neat looking plant, Jim.  I'm guessing that the tall stalks are a fruiting body.  The dof is great, showing off the entire group well.

Yes, Jim, the green is everywhere in Oregon; just about everywhere.  Nice look at these liverworts.  They look good against the dark background.

Excellent, Jim.  wonderful dof to get it all in such crisp focus-even the Douglas fir seedling.
