Crow Bait

Since David was complaining about the lack of conflict at Big Beef Creek, I thought I'd post this image of one of the Northwestern Crows beating up on a Bald Eagle, thought the Eagle did seem rather indifferent to the attention it was getting.  The light was quite harsh for this one, so the shadows, particularly on the crow, don't have much of any detail, but I thought the action was cool.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 313 mm, hand held, f/8, 1/3200, iso 640, manual exposure.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 7.6 MP before resizing (I'd zoomed out to keep both birds in the frame during the altercation).  Taken at 7:02 am on June 22nd.

Your comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Great timing, Dennis.  I watched a Mockingbird attacking a crow recently, and then the crow did the unthinkable, he grabbed the Mockingbird right out of the air, took him to the ground, and no matter how hard the other Mockingbirds tried to save their friend, he was "crow meat"!  So I am surprised that this eagle didn't do the same thing.

Looks like the crow is taking a ride on the Eagles back.  Or it could also look like they're having a conversation.  In any case good interaction.  Of course what you really needed was a drone to take the other view from above the Eagle.
