Here's one of a GBH as it pulls up with its catch. Taken on an overcast day. Nikon D500 and Sigma 120-300 lens at f/8, 1/1250 and ISO 900. Cropped to about 2/3 of original. Richard

Nice, Richard. I like the large dof with all the habitat showing so nicely. You also got a pretty good reflection, despite the algae. To me, this is the kind of image that likes to be printed large, where there's plenty of room to let the eye roam around it.

Richard, I like the contrast of the blue with the green of the reeds and reflection. Very nice.

Well titled with the tiny minnow, and very good stalking image, Richard. Your choice of framing works well with the longish aspect of the GBH pose in the lush surroundings, and it's especially nice to have the whole frame in good focus, perfect complimentary environment for long legged waders.

I really like the GBH in the middle of all the green, especially with the reflection.

This definitely works a lot better in the larger image. Good definition and clarity on the Great Blue Heron. I like the reflection in the algae filled water.
