Oregon Sunshine

A native of the west side of the mountains, where sunshine is in short supply.  This is a late spring/early summer bloomer with masses of lacy blue-green foliage and profuse blooms.  It can be rather weedy in gardens with good soil.  It is also one of the favorite "host"plants of the endangered hemiparasitic Golden Paintbrush.  The darker yellow center is not an artifact, but just the way the flower is in this species.

This is one I picked from our yard and photographed in the bathroom "studio".

5Diii, EF180 f/3.5L macro, tripod and cable release, f/20, 1/10 sec, sio 400, aperture priority, pattern metering, + 1/3 EV.  This was photographed the same day as my daisy posts and the bg is the blue construction paper.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  I took a touch of the top and bottom of this one.

Comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Nice and simple  flower and BG to go with it.  A gentle shot.

Very nice, especially when viewed in the larger image.

Nice work, Dennis. The pose is just right with some great coloring. Some would probably suggest you clone out that little squiggly stem at the bottom, but I like it.
