Flowers from the Hart

Moisture is starting to stream northward into Arizona for the summer rainy season, so I ventured last evening to Hart Prairie below the San Francisco Peaks near Flagstaff. This is a blend of 2 images for depth of field.  Nikon D810, 14-24mm@14mm

Doug, excellent near to far example. With a few trips to Flagstaff over the years I think I have a feel where this location is. The cloud cover is a real plus in it's juxtaposition and color to the lupine?.........laugh

Doug, This is really nice! A beautiful scene with wonderful colors and excellent comp. I especially like how the sky color and clouds enhances the lupines and adds such a nice and inviting feel to the scene. Nice work!

The gentle colors and the long view look great, Doug.  The superwide view adds a nice sense of flow to the clouds.  The colors and sense of invitation are much improved in the larger view.

This is a beauty, Doug!  I like the radiating lines formed by the clouds as well as the way that the sunset color compliments the color in the flowers.  I have heard a lot about the dry conditions in AZ so hopefully the monsoon moisture will come soon to bring some relief to both AZ & UT (and really the whole Rocky Mountain west).

I think I remember flying around this peak when landing in Flagstaff on my my only visit to the Grand Canyon.  Perfectly balanced - the sky and lupine compliment each other.  Does look like the moisture in those clouds is streaming upward.  Saw the flood footage on the news out your way - looks like some good storms for photos I guess.  Maybe a little more clarity / contrast in the sky to bring out the cloud detail more? A beauty.

Real nice near/far flower scene, with a great sky. I might burn down the middle ground a bit (the brown grasses) so that area does not compete as much with the flowers and sky. Minor, though. I like it a lot.

Beautiful soothing color scheme here. Great comp and love the swirling cloud patterns that only a super wide angle lens can give.

Doug, this is wonderful. The comp is great, and the sky is awesome. I love the purples throughout. The only nit I have is that your name is misspelled in your watermark cool

Nicely done, Doug. This has a wonderful depth to it and I like how the color in the sky mimics that of the lupines.

Thanks for the comments.
Paul. yes it is lupine.
Craig, oops angel
Harry, the summer storms have started so I expect to see plenty of lightning images from around Tucson. I saw some footage of the flash flood and the leading edge was carrying plenty of logs and branches.
Harley, I see what you mean about the mid-ground grass.
