Nuthatch

Red-breasted Nuthatch getting a drink from the drip that goes into my upper blind pool.  This frame had the best pose, but there was no drop on the drip and I thought it was needed to tell the story, so I stole it from a couple of frames later.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, tripod with ballhead and Wimberley Sidekick, f/8, 1/400, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to an 11.4 MP 4x5 before resizing.  There was a spot of sun on the left end of the perch, so I also did a bit of burning there.  Taken at 11:38 am today under mostly cloudy skies.

Your comments and critiques are most welcome.

Thanks,

Neat! I love the upside down pose so typical of the species. The water drop is a nice touch.

Great pose and both water drops adds a lot.  Fine detail and well composed.

Dennis, I don't remember ever seeing one of these fully inverted before, pretty cool.

Nice classic pose of this Nuthatch Dennis. I also like the water droplet.

Typical pose like our Nuttys. I wonder why they  constantly  work upside down?
Like the drip too.

Definitely a fun look at this nuthatch.  They do seem to enjoy being in odd positions and you certainly caught one here.  Good color and detail.
