Barn Swallows

The same group of fledglings from my previous post.  I liked the pose of the fledglings.  I would have like to have had more of the head on the parent and not have cut off the tail feathers, but the main focus was the youngsters waiting for their meal.  The background was not as messy as the prior shot, but I still needed to clean it up a bit in PS.

Canon 7d Mark II
Sigma 150-600 at 600 mm
1/1250 at f7.1
ISO 640

Thanks for looking.  Comments and suggestions appreciated.  The larger view gives a better look.

I like this one, Allen.  The clipped tail really doesn't make much difference since the focus is obviously on the fledglings.  My one opportunity with this scene had an equally difficult background-makes you wonder if they do it on purpose.

Love the endearing feel of this one Allen, though I bet their mom doesn't feel exactly that way!

Just like a bunch of kids, telling mom, mom, mom, mom, what to do... Love the expressions here Allen. Great job getting them all in good focus.

Great capture of these adorable little birds!  The parent flying toward them completes the story of these little ones being fed.  Very nice done, Allen!

I love this shot! It reminds me of a choir director leading a choir. It's a great composition and nice bikes. I am curious as to how you got such an interesting angle.

Nolan, thanks for the comment.  The birds were on a branch along the shore of a small river and I was standing on a bridge overlooking the river and was looking down on them.  Lucky to be at the right place at the right time.

Good stuff!
I would certainly work on the BG clutter a little. Ours have not had a good year on the farm here for some reason.
Cheers

This image has a pleasing three-dimensional effect to it and I like the point of view.  The light is quite nice especially on the open mouths.

Hey Allen,
Outstanding timing on this shot with nice detail and light (as already mentioned) on the little ones. I agree with John about the background but disagree with Dennis about the clipped tail. This image in my opinion is well worth exploring a few compositional options. With that in mind, you could try a tighter crop on the fledglings (the obvious main subjects) eliminating the adult and the upper background clutter all together.
Just a thought . . .  laugh

This one brought a smile to my face Allen, love the look of the 4 youngsters begging for their meal.  I agree with you about the adult but it's a very fun capture nonetheless.  Would it have been possible to get a lower angle to get a cleaner background?  devil
