Swainson's Thrush
by Dennis Plank
I suspect this is the same juvenile I posted an image of some time back. At least I keep seeing a juvenile at the blind pool where I may see it come in to bathe several times in a morning if I spend that much time in the blind. This one was taken a couple of days ago when we had overcast skies and I spent three or four hours there. The splash is from the drip that feeds the pool.
7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 484 mm, tripod with ballhead and sidekick, f/8, 1/400, iso 1600, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1 1/3 EV. Processed in LR & PS CC. Cropped to a 9x16 full width image to adjust the vertical crop to something more pleasing than the original (the bird was positioned rather low in the frame). I also replaced a rather bright oof rock in the lower right corner by erasing it, using content aware fill, and doing a bit of cloning.
Your comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I like this one and the drip helps pull the eye into the scene. I also like the subject which is nice and sharp..................Jim
