I took this a few years ago while vacationing at Brice Canyon.  Handheld Canon 5D Mark III with Canon 24-105 mm L lens, f18, 1/80, ISO 400.  Comments and suggestions are welcome.

I just realized I gave the wrong lens.  I was using the 17-40 mm L at 40 mm.

You have a nice composition overall.  If this were mine, I would consider cropping out the vegetation at the bottom of the frame.  I think this would also benefit from an increase in overall contrast.

Shirley, This is a great looking scene and especially in the larger version. This comp works fine for me but I can see the crop as Brian mentioned without the foreground grass as well. I like the sky in this very much along with the distant landscape. I agree a little contrast boost could work nicely and might be worth a try, but still a nice image just as you have it.

We've all seen countless images of this formation, Shirley, but I've never seen it photographed from this angle and with the greenery, so kudos for having a unique take on this icon. I personally don't mind the vegetation at the bottom. Well shot.

Nice take on a often photographed spot.  I might have moved to the right a bit to isolate the formation so that it doesn't blend with the ridge behind it.  The foreground is fine for me.

Hi Shirley, I've only been to this park a couple times over the years, but would love to return at some point. I too have a shot of Thor's Hammer and find it one of the most prominent structures in the park.

I agree with Gary's comment quoted just above here and it was an immediate item of notice to me in trying to outline or separate the view overall. The top of the hammer blends into the BG almost seamlessly. I do think with a bit of processing adjustments it can be enhanced enough to see some isolation between the two masses. I would select the hammer formation and do an inverse to select all the area around the hammer to increase the contrast there. I would think it can improve the separation possibly.....laugh

btw: just a heads up the park is actually spelled with a "y" instead of an "i".....Bryce.

Gary's comment echoed my first thought too. Quite an enjoyable view!

Hello Shirley,  Bryce is certainly a wonderland.  I think that a different perspective may have been an advantage to separate the top of the Thor's hammer from the ridge behind, and the one in front that hides a lot of the handle.
