Wood Stork in peak breeding colours
Wokodahatchee Wetlands, Del Ray, Florida

I just love wood storks. They are semi-graceful in flight, but very awkward and IN-adept at landing. They usually just crash into the tree and try to hold on.
I've seen them knock other birds off a limb, land on chicks, break eggs, and knock half the nest into the water below. Very humourous to watch!

A fine look at this Stork landing, Sandy.  This would also look good cropped to 4x5.

Fabulous Wood Stork feather detail.  Great visual tension created by its outspread toes as it reaches for the bare branch. Love it!

Great landing pose, Sandy, and the bright sky bg really makes it work for this challenge.  Excellent detail in the stork.
