Western Bluebird

Gallery: Weekly ChallengePosted July 31, 2017175 views2 comments
I posted an image of this female in the avian gallery shortly after I took it on one early foggy morning in late May. For this challenge, I went back and brightened the bg a bit more as well as adding a curves layer to the bluebird.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 421 mm, f/7.1, 1/320, iso 1250, aperture priority, pattern metering, +1/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 9 MP from a horizontal original before resizing.  Taken at 5:46 am on May 28th.

Your comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Dennis,
Looks good as is.  This is one of those images that can be brightened up and still look OK. Pose and comp are idealdevil........................Jim

The details in the bird and her perch look great, Dennis.  I agree with Jim that the pose and comp. are ideal.  As presented here, there's still quite a bit of grey in the background.  I wonder if pushing the whites slider in LR to the right might brighten that part without going too crazy in brightening the details.
