Oh my. Where's the Water

Sorry this one has no bottom space.  When I get time, I'll add some canvas from one of the other photos in this set to the bottom.  Other than that, how do you like it?

The sun was so bright, and I felt bad that the water was so low in the birdbath.   But, there was some water, so he did get a few cool sips from the clay birdbath.... I just love the pensive look in his eyes.

He/she was so beautiful!  I hated the harsh lighting, but knew it would be great for a high key photo!  I did add a little lighting on his back and head with NIK to offset the bright light.

Handheld, as always through my double paned windows. LOL

The lighting worked out nicely, and I like the high key bg, Lucy.  When you add some canvas on the bottom, I think it might work better to get rid of the leg for the dish as it competes with the bird.

You're right, Dennis....I actually forgot it was there, as the first crop included the diagonal of the top of the bar, also.  It made a nice foil to the bird, but the stand's bottom and the shadows around the top didn't work with the rest of the BG.  Too much to change, if I'd kept that part of the BG in the photo.....thanks.

Lucy, the clarity and detail are great for two extra layers of glass (you must keep those window very clean!).  I too like the pose and the nice glow of the background.

Yes, Mark, I keep those 3 floor to ceiling windows incredibly clean.  I watch the birds from inside....If I go out, they fly away.  Maybe one day, I'll buy a ghillie suit.  LOLfrownsadfrown
