AKA Brown-eyed Susan or Gaillardia Aristata.

I saw a couple of posts from Shirley Freeman some time ago where she used a KuangRen KX-800 twin flash and I looked it up.  It looked like an affordable alternative to most of the manufacturer's twin flash setups and more versatile, so I eventually ordered one.  I decided this challenge was a good opportunity to try it out.  The two flashes are on 18 inch flexible arms so you can easily arrange one for the background and the other on the subject.  In this case I didn't give the one on the background sufficient extra power, so I had to brighten the bg a bit in processing to get it completely white.

7Dii, EF 180 f/3.5L macro, KX-800 twin macro flash.  I picked the flower from my garden and put in in front of a white bg in my bathroom.  There was also ambient indirect light from a skylight.  Tripod with ball head, f/29, 1/200, iso 400, manual exposure and manual focus, the flash on the background was at 1/4 power and that on the subject at 1/8.  Taken this afternoon at 3:46.

Your comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

There's a fine clarity and glow here, Dennis.  I also like the sense of transparency in the rays.  This has a fine artistic quality to it.
