This is a popular spot in Blackwater Falls State Park, WV. Sunset was looking like a dud, was packing my gear up when the sky came alive.

I'm glad that you didn't leave sooner! The light here is beautiful - especially the warm / cool gradient in the sky. I think the centered comp work too. The V-shape formed by the ridge line converges with the rock formation and the rocks in the bottom of the frame add interest in the corners.

Sweet image, brother. I like the placement of the rock pillar as it directs the viewer towards the notch in the mountains and that gorgeous drama laden sky. The kiss of warm light on the pillar is particularly striking IMO. You will have to show me this location; hopefully with this same kind of light; the next time we are out that way.

Michael, very nicely done here. The light is awesome. That pedestal is so inviting as a place to perch and watch the sunset from. That light really does a nice thing with the FG rocks too......
