Keel-billed Toucan
by Keith Bauer
I've been away for a while. I was working with my good friend Greg Basco, leading a workshop in Costa Rica. This is an image from a lowland rain forest of the beautiful Keel-billed toucan. Just amazing birds and certainly nothing like I'm used to seeing in New Mexico!!
Techs:
Canon 5D Mark IV
500mm f/4
1/1600 @ f/4, ISO 3200.
I chose the faster shutter speed to make sure I could stop any quick movements the Toucan made.
Larger version provided for critical viewing.
Thanks for taking a look

The faster shutter speed and higher ISO held up nicely. Really good detail and color.

The colours of the bird are spectacular, but - from here - the greens look a little
"electric"
Sounds like a fruitful trip!

If you've ever been to Costa Rica, you know the greens there are truly spectacular. This has not had any saturation added to it at all. A very accurate representation of the colors in this magical place.
