Jagdeep, I really like this shot. Aside from your usual excellent technical abilities, it keeps calling me back to review it, and each time I remain puzzled and concerned. Not being familiar with elephant behavior, I have no idea why he dug his tusks into the mud. Hopefully I am incorrect, but each time I am left with the impression that he is ailing in some way, especially by his posture and the look in his eye. Excellent image.

Richard : No he wasn't eating it, salt licks are completely different, they are actually in stone forms.
BTW I happened to photograph an elephant, who after digging his tusks in the mud, lifted his hind legs, putting all body weight on the tusks. May be I'll post it here.
