Another take on this Challenge.  I liked the way the wire and the tail lead to the body of the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher and the simplicity of the composition.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 562 mm, hand held, f/8, 1/500, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering, +2/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 8.3 MP before resizing.  Taken at 7:18 am on April 7th, 2017 on Hwy 774 east of Refugio which is now getting hammered by Harvey.

Your critiques are most appreciated.

Thanks,

Love the "X marks the spot" look here, Dennis, both simple and dramatic at the same time.  There's a nice hint of pink in the early morning lighting.

Neat one, Dennis. Another different take or thought on the WC here. The different straight lines, birds tail and the wire, supply some opposing points to view.
The larger version even shows a bit of catch light in the birds eye. Some excellent soft & warm light here.
And, this is truly a gorgeous bird too......laugh

Indeed X marks the spot Dennis. The colors of the bird and the sky are really nice, and as Paul has pointed out the detail in the large version are really nice.
