Lodgepole Detail

Thank you for your comments on my recent image! Your thoughts are always appreciated.

This image of a lodgepole pine snag at the St. Mary's Pass trailhead near Sonora Pass is a three-image stack for depth of field. The various textures and color of these old trees have always intrigued me. This particular tree had been hit by lightning a long time ago, and has aged gracefully.

I always thoroughly enjoy these types of intimate landscapes, Preston. There is so much wonderful detail and textures to savor in this scene. Great eye to spot this one. BTW I love the earth tones.

Preston,

The fine detail in the large view is simply amazing.  I love the texture and I'm especially impressed with the natural processing here.  Looks just like I remember standing there.  :-)

I've got no nits or suggestions.  I think the balance of light areas, neutral and shadow areas work together nicely.  Again, the processing is spot on.  Great job with this one!

Excellent Preston.  Love the detail of the various stages of decay.  Very cool. It looks like there is a bit of green in the LRC.

Real fine intimate image. Great shapes, textures and colors. Processing looks on the money.

This is a very cool abstract, Preston!  The contrasting color and textures as well as the flowing line keep my eye moving throughout the frame.
