Jay
Of all the birds I,ve had coming to my pools I reckon  Jays are my favourite. They always appear to really enjoy the water and always  stick the crest up .( Wish I knew why !!) They seem to have a  fairly regular visiting time too- almost set your watch by them.

Something about the eye in this one really appeals to me, John.  Nicely done.

Love the crest, very attractive birds in my opinion, often overlooked over here. Nice action with all the water droplets ! Cheers, Hans

Excellent capture, John!  Wonderful details in the feathers, and that eye is an eye catcher!  Sorry I am late commenting (I haven't been on here lately, been preparing in case of Irma, and now that it appears to be missing us, I am preparing to take a trip, and so will still be off the grid for awhile, I am sure).  He is a beautiful bird and you did an outstanding job capturing this.

Nice bathing capture, John!  That eye really gets your attention and the flying water drops always adds some excitement.  Great detail in the large version also.

This is a really good pose to show off the plumage.  Perhaps the raised crest is for ventilation?  It may allow cooling in the water.  Just a thought.  Good job on the color and the flying frozen water droplets.
