Where's That Cheetah?

Here's a photo of our guide looking for a radio collared cheetah. We did not locate it and were told that the collars only work well when a direct line of sight is available. If the cat is behind a big rock for example, it might as well be invisible. Nikon D 500 and 24-120 lens at f/8, 1/400 and ISO 1400. Richard

Why were you looking for a cheetah with a radio collar?  Sort of interested in the bigger story.  This sounds like it might be more effective with a drone.

Tony: So  that we could find it enlightened . The cheetah we were looking for was a female with 6 month old cubs and we were hoping for a sighting of the mother and cubs for the photo op as well as to continue to acclimate the cubs to vehicles. A drone would be of little use given the huge size of the camp and the animal's natural camouflage. Richard
