Thanks for the kind words and helpful comments! Here goes a slightly edited version. If you can take a close look, do you still see the halo? In the original version I sometimes thought I saw it and sometimes not, now I THINK it is gone, but I can talk myself into it still being there. Still learning my way with Capture One. There is a "Halo Suppression" adjustment tool and had not used it as I was concerned that it would ruin overall sharpness and microcontrast, but I think that it really only touched the halo and left the rest of the image alone - comments? I also took care of the stalks at the bottom, but since I know they were there I can talk my way into not liking the masking - does it look too unnatural? It would be quite easy to redo in Capture One.....I did not touch the blue saturation, as the cool evening sky is what I wanted to convey, as Lon points out.

Igor - this was a 25 second exposure at ISO 400. Aperture probably f/11 or f/16, since it is a 20+ year old manual focus lens I don't have a  record, but it is what I usually go for for landscapes.

Thanks again!

PS - after uploading the photos and posting them, I think that the halo is not there in the large full-resolution image, but it appears to be there in the thumbnail and small image. Have you seen this issue before?

Eerie light with a nice separation of all the elements Alberto.

I like the re-worked composition, Alberto. I do see some haloing at the rock-sky interface. I can see some very thin cirrus clouds which I think adds to the scene and mood.

Alberto,

Just chiming in to say that the halo is still present. Yes, a little less noticeable in the large version, but still there. Interesting too, that it's more obvious the smaller the image.  The thumbnail is the most obvious.  I wish I knew of an explanation and hard to know without knowing the original or what other layers, if any were involved.

Good job on taking care of the stalks at the bottom. Looks good. Thanks for taking the time.

This has turned out very nicely Alberto. There is an other worldly feel about it, largely due to the stark sky and and strange rock formations. The lone tree is a strong counterpoint and from its relative size looks quite dainty.
