BC Night Heron & RP

Black-crowned Night Heron taken a couple of years ago in Port Aransas, TX.  I posted another version of this back then, but recropped and reprocessed it for this post.  While the bg is very busy the upper part works for me because it's like a patterned bg.  I do find the lower right corner rather distracting.

7Dii, 500 mm f/4L, tripod and gimbal head (I think), f/8, 1/320, iso 500, aperture priority, center-weighted average metering.  Processed in LR5 & CS6 originally.  I touched it up today using PS CC.  Cropped to 7.2 MP before resizing. Taken at 8:26 AM on February 22nd, 2015.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Great timing with the lifted foot and pose, Dennis. These are much less common around here than the YCNH. I see what you mean about the BRHC, would make sense to shave off a hair. For me the exposure would also work a bit darker, but that's subjective. Thanks for sharing.

Dennis, I find this very interesting, because is completely focused on something, as is usual, but yet there is that branch that would appear to be completely blocking its view.  I really like the exposure but think that perhaps darkening the lower right corner a bit might help there.

Based on Bill and Barbara's comments here's a repost with a bit more crop from the bottom to eliminate the brightest of the branches and some decrease in exposure of the bird and burning of the entire LRC.

Click on the image for a 1200 pixel view.

Thanks for the feedback.
