Excellent image quality and one of your classically beautiful perches, David.  Did you splurge for the 850?

Dang, another D850! I think the minimizing reds is a good thing, but it is probably correctable in camera. Well made shot.

Nice, calm image. Great contrast between the bird and its BG - the branch is attractive in itself. Well done shot, David ! Cheers, Hans

Great job on this one; everything is working.  Nice perch with the moss and lichen.  The uniform green background contrasts nicely with the finch.  Nice pose and good detail in the finch.

Hi David,

I like the comp, although the color is unusual for a male house finch.  Typical male house finches color can range from yellow, orange, to a more strawberry red color.  This bird may still be developing its adult coloration. If you feel that the camera has captured the color accurately, then I conclude that this is the bird's natural color.  The finch is nice and sharp with an ideal perch and BG.  Well done..........................Jim
