This is the same group of Egrets I photographed on a salt pond in Hammonasset Beach State Park,CT.  I used a mono pole and cropped it by 15% into a 16 by 9.  In Lightroom I adjusted the highlights, black and clarity.

The way these Egrets are facing makes things interesting, Peter.  I like the composition formed by the five center birds, but I think it would make a more interesting image if you cropped/cloned to remove the bird on the far left and the two birds on the right.

Interesting view with all the crossed necks and all the egrets and a line.  The golden grasses surrounding them make this image quite pleasing

Including/excluding is always a difficult choice with a group of birds. I see Dennis' point, but I am also OK with this as is. Considering the amount of cyan in the shadows, I believe an uptick in the WP might be in order.

Hi
Thank you for the comments.  I re-cropped the shot, taking out the two on the right, but like the two on the left.  I also warmed the shot up a bit.
