One of my favorite prairie flowers that I photographed earlier in the Summer.  Three different ages of flowers present in the composition of which the youngest flower contains the grayish green center as described by the common name.  K5 IIs 180 mm f3.5 (2.5 sec at f18, Iso 125) Soft box, 2 diffused flashes, Levels, Brightness & Contrast, Saturation reduction of yellows............................Jim

Good comp, techs and detail. Good story line in the age progression. No nits as is; but, believe it or not, I wish there were some kind of background besides off white to support this lovely arrangement. Just me, I guess.cool

Great idea to have the different aged flowers, and I like the way you've arranged them. It looks like a slight bit of irregularity in the background; I wouldn't mind seeing it either flat or more textured.

Nicely shown Jim.  I also like the ages of the flowers being shown as you have.  The BG works for me - though I wonder if you can punch up the exposure a bit so that it is a bit brighter white - if you want to go for the high key look.

Great idea here, I like the different ages of the flowers and the way they are arranged.  I normally like white backgrounds, but on this one feel it does not do the arrangement justice.  Maybe punch the white up a bit as Phil says???  Or, my preferred alternative, try a texture on this one.  It just seems to cry out for a dreamy background and a little bit of texture.
