House Finch

Same perch, same day,  different bird.  I liked the way this one was looking at something besides the camera, and the detail in the plumage.  I'm not sure what the little white tuft on the head is from, but other than that, the winter plumage looks prime which is one reason I like shooting this time of year.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 468 mm, Jobu Gimbal mounted to blind window, f/9, 1/250, iso 1600, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Full Frame.  Taken at 10:33 am on October 20th.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks,

I think the colors and saturation on this House Finch are perfect, as well as the details and background.

Your setup is getting nicely detailed looks at birds and this one is no exception.  I like the pose as well.  Good work.

I like the horizontal pose here Dennis.  I agree that it is nice not to have the bird always looking at the camera or off into space.  Detail is excellent.  Your perch is different and refreshing.

Nice plan Dennis, just swap out the bird and voila, another great image. Sharp details. Nice work!  enlightened
