House Finch

Another House Finch.  It's interesting how the birds seem to come to the feeding station in waves and somewhat by species.  I think these guys intimidate a lot of the Chickadees, though some still come while the Finches are there.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 421 mm, Jobu gimbal mounted to blind window, f/9, 1/320, iso 1600, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 18.3 MP from the bottom and right.  Cloned over a few partial fir needles sticking into the frame and a couple of bright blobs in the bg.  Taken at 9:36 am on October 22nd.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Beautiful shot, Dennis.  Great color and detail in the finch, and the nice smooth background really makes him stand out.

Love the soft light and excellent detail.  Solid pose, diagonal perch and a nice clean background.

Real good pose, perch, and background.  I like the diagonal perch and the fact that it's reddish tones mirror the Finch.  The light is a little flat but our weather doesn't allow for much more than that.  Wonderful detail.  Perhaps a good place for a fill flash?
