From the shoulder of the road, shooting down into the woods, 80-200 in DX mode for more reach. Wondering if a crop from bottom to just above the yellow leaves would be better?

I like this as presented with the foreground colors and foggy background. Well seen and photographed.

This is potentially a really good image. I wouldn't do the suggested crop. I would try dropping the luminosity on those yellow leaves in the corner and desaturating them. I don't know if that would work. I suppose cloning that much is out of the question. You could crop a bit off the bottom but it would have to be below that first fork. But the image as a whole is so beautiful.

Beautiful image. I wouldn't crop; what remains looks cut off to me.

Hi Michael,
Crop is not needed. Reducing the saturation of the yellow leaves should help. Overall, I like the comp...................Jim

Beautiful image! Love the blues and warm tone mix! The blue background works really well here. I like it just as presented, no crop and no desaturatization. I think a crop of the yellow leaves along the bottom would work, but I prefer it as is. Excellent!!!

Michael,
Gorgeous! And right up my alley. I LOVE this! A "beauty" is an understatement - it's more than a tree with some autumn leaves; the blue background of mist and trunks are really what make this tree stand out.
While I like the glow of the yellow leaves at the bottom, I'm gonna go against the grain here and say I like it cropped. For me anyway, the image is about the structure of the tree against the back drop with some sprinkled in fall leaves for accent. The cluster of yellow upsets the balance, IMHO. And fortunately there are multiple sets of branches that even cropping out the yellow still leaves a nice structure of branches to hold this together.
Perhaps my favorite of yours in recent memory.

These just keep getting better, Mike. This is literally dripping with mood. I love the color palette here along with the atmospherics with the fog. My only suggestions aare a little noise reduction; which is visible in the large version and a little cloning of the two OOF branches toward the URC. The branches might be a bit of a pain, but I think it would be worth the effort as this is an amazing scene.

I would go with a crop. The bottom branches balance out th bottom enough for me, and there is still plenty above to keep my interest. The bluish - green background sets a nice mood. A beauty. Can even see some small droplets in the large view, but also a bit of noise in the background trees. Maybe reduce saturation there a bit or apply some additional noise reduction or selective blurring.

Really good, Michael. Turning down the highlights bottom left could be worth playing with, but lovely as is.

The warm colored leaves are really nice against the blue background. I would agree with reducing the saturation/luminosity of the yellow leaves in lieu of a crop.
