Yeah, another tree closeup. sad  Just charred bark this time. The controlled burns the park service does on the valley floor provide some interesting scenes.

Is it Mr. Char, or Mr. Bark?  enlightened laugh  A terrific char image with those knots providing convenient eye rests.  Great detail and I like the directional lighting.

To me, this looks a little on the red side.  I don't recall which tree this was, or if I was near by, but I don't remember much red. I was thinking about suggesting to burn the highlights, but as I mentioned above, the directional lighting (creating highlights and shadows is a plus here.)

The longer I've view this, the more that top knot looks like an eye staring me down.  A square crop of the top and centering of that eye could be a unique view.

This may be another tree closeup, but they are all unique and have been thoroughly enjoyable, Harley. This has some wonderful details and textures and that top knot does seem to be staring aat the viewer as Lon already mentioned. I particularly like the bits of red sprinkled about the char. Beautifully done.

The bits of red really make this for me. They look like the fire is still burning inside.

Fascinating detail here, Harley.  I think Lon's on to something with the square crop suggestion.  The lone knot becomes this amazing reptilian eye.  Well done.
