Chuar Butte rises above the confluence of the Little Colorado River into the larger Colorado. It is also the resting site of the wreckage of one of the airliners of the 1956 collision above the Grand Canyon.

Beautiful color and nice detail. I could see a crop from the top to just above the cloud on the left. The gentle light gives this a nice, peaceful mood.

Beautiful. I like Preston's term "gentle light". Very descriptive and spot-on for this image. Very nicely done.

Thanks for your comments Harley and Preston. I had readjusted just a few times trying to get the brightness, contrast and magenta of dawn to look right, but still may need more tuning. There is some bothersome to me purple in the far right wall, but I see that in many low light canyon images of mine and others.

Beautiful early morning light and scene, Doug. I can see this hanging as a metal print!

Doug,
A grand canyon scene and I think you've processed this beautifully. It would have been very easy to carry the colors/sat too far. This is wonderful and have to agree with the "gentle light" description - very fitting.
No suggestions from me - I wouldn't crop; there's just the right amount of sky for me.
The only complaint I have - which ihas nothing to do with the image per se... is that I can't figure out where the confluence of the two rivers is...

What a majestic scene ... captured and portrayed perfectly. It is a quiet image that really ends up saying more.
