Bash Bish Falls

I'm going back to a photo from early this summer, when I went to check out a waterfall in Western Massachusetts that I had wanted to see for a long time. I definitely want to go back when I'm able to spend more time there.

Craig - This is my favorite waterfall in New England. The trees don't really provide much of a sense of scale, but this falls is about 60 feet high. After two years of drought in the Northeast, it was so nice to get the rain this year and be able to photograph waterfalls again in 2017. I hope to make a trip out to Bash Bish sometime this winter, which I haven't done before.

The shutter speed you chose works really well for this flow level of water. It's a nitpick, but I would try to burn the flow on the left side to see if you can recover a little detail, the right side looks okay. When shooting at this location, I've debated about whether to include the foreground rocks or not, but I think it looks better with them included as you have here. Nice job with this image!!!

Craig,

Pretty straight forward comp which captures these falls perfectly.  I really think the vibrant green foliage makes this image really stand out.  There is just enough texture in the falls and the processing looks great.

The only small wish would be dealing with the little triangle of a rock in the LLC.  I don't see a viable crop and of course not being there I don't know the constraints of viewpoint. But that's very minor anyway and certainly not an image killer.

Sweet falls image, Craig. I really like this.  I can see the issue with excluding or including the rocks. A part of me wants a bit more of them.  Beautifully done.

Sweet look at this waterfall. The fore rocks look good to me. The left side feels a little cutoff due to the left side of the tree, but pretty minor stuff. Hard to say what was lurking out there that needed to be excluded, but as stated, minor. I like it.

This is wonderful, Craig. Really beautiful falls, accented nicely by the lush greenery. Your processing and comp. look good, although I think inclusion of a bit more of the rocks in the foreground would be optimal.

Thanks all for the comments. I do recall it being a challenge framing up this falls, but I'm not sure exactly what caused me to frame this as I did. I agree that more rocks would be nice here...Next time I get out there!
