2 Wet Pine Siskins

This was taken in the driving rainstorm and I chose to edit out the raindrops.  The birds were quite wet and they seem to be sharing their misery.  This was a difficult exposure because of the predominant magenta overtones as a result of the moisture in the atmosphere and in the background Japanese Maples.

Iso-5000, 600 mm, F9, 250th, D850, 0 EV, Fill flash at -0.3  tripod, D850  full frame, DxO optics lab, ACR 10, Topaz adjust, TK sharpening action at 50%

A really nice composition, David.  To my eye, the lichen looks just a touch over flashed compared with the dark bg.  Excellent job on the processing to remove the rain.

Nice composition for two subjects. Nice overall image quality especially for that high ISO. I'd like to see the green lichen on the branch a bit darker so it retains more texture/detail. I'd also like to see what it looked like before you removes the rain.

Nice composition with the birds facing each other.  I agree with darkening the lichen.  I wonder how this would look with the rain?

I like the composition as posted David. The lichen, while bright, isn't too hot as far as I can see. Nice job in difficult conditions for sure.
