Adult Female, Glenlake Park, Decatur, Georgia

Canon EOS 7D Mark II EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM +1.4x III @490mm
f/8, 1/3200, ISO 800
Aperture priority, Evaluative metering
Imported into LR, processed in CC PS 2018, 65% of full frame

I was so thrilled with this I would have been happy to post it with no processing at all.  But I did process it.  I cloned some OOF small twigs.  I lessened the contrast in the background and then increased the saturation a little to make up for the lessened contrast.  And I sharpened the Bluebird normally (PS Smart Sharpen 125/0.6).

Please view the larger version, if possible.  All feedback would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

This is really nice Barbara. I love the slightly ruffled look. It must have been a bit cold.

A great look at this little guy, Barbara. I like that puffed out look.

Nice to get a good look at this bird.  Perch and bird look good.  One or two steps to the left would have improved the image with the OOF trees not intersecting the bird.  I'm always trying to encourage people in the field to pay very close attention to the background and control it if possible.

I like the pose and perch here Barbara.  You got very nice lighting.  Color is good.    Too bad you couldn't have gotten a little closer.

Hi, Barbara.  I wanted to wait until I had my main monitor to comment on this one.  The bluebird seems a bit faded to my eye-I think maybe a bit more saturation on her and some more work subduing that oof branch behind her would make this really pop.  Excellent detail and I like that little crook in the perch.

Thanks, everyone.  Dennis, I've lowered the contrast in the background as far as it will go and then I added 6 points of saturation to a little of the green in the background and to the bird.  On her back she was bluer, though not nearly as blue as the males, but from the front it was hard to see the blue at all.  But let me know what you think.
