Anas strepera

I was happy to capture this Gadwall in some nice late afternoon light.

1/800, f9.0, partial metering
ISO 800
Tripod approx. 18" from the ground

Please view the larger image for detail.

All comments and critique are very appreciated.
Thank You.

That's a lot of focal length to handle!

Nice detail and color. I'd darken the throat and face a little.

Good light, detail, and point of view.  The water reflections are subtle but pleasing.  Richards suggestion is reasonable.

A nice low angle and a beautiful duck, Matt.  I like the eye contact and the light is beautiful.

Real nice image of this Gadwall Matt.  I like the pose and the light on this bird.  I think the cheek and neck are just a bit too bright.  Looks like possible cloning issues on the water just in front of the duck.  Overall, a very nice shot.

Thank you everyone for all of your comments.
Jim, there is no cloning in this image. Is there something that looks odd that I am missing? Directly in front of the duck is ripples in the water.

Excellent shot Matt, great detail and I like the water color.  I would drop the exposure just a touch. devil
