Hi All,

Based upon your suggestions, which I really appreciate, I decided to post a rework of the original image, beginning with my master file.

Here's what I did:
  • Cropped from the top
  • Burned the rocks at the top
  • Increased the vibrance, and the red and yellow saturation just a bit.
Please see the large version. Thanks!

Your thoughts on this second effort will be appreciated.

This is an incredible rework. The leaves, which I thought looked like something to sweep, look amazingly alive. The glow and really contribute to the comp. Going warm on this image was a great idea because it changed the mood of it completely. The previous image was probably how it really looked but this is much better. Just my opinion.

This works so much better, Preston. I think the added saturation you gave to the red and yellow channels has given this scene a nice pop and has made it come alive IMO. Really nice rework.

Preston,

What a transformation! I love this reworked version.  Fantastic job on taking the suggestions and improving on your image. devil

The crop, combined with the burning up top made a HUGE difference.  Also, the warming and boost in saturation really help make this even better.

The only tweak I might suggest is perhaps baking off the burning a tad. Specifically in the darkest areas where it seems some detail has been lost.  quite minor though considering the darker top really helps with pushing the focus on the main rocks, leaves and the warm light.

Well done!
