This shot is from our annual Washington state eagles and seabirds workshop.  We always visit a colony of Pigeon Guillimots at Hood Canal.  This year we were fortunate to be able to witness and photograph a courtship and copulation of a pair, the light was a bit harsh when this happened but we were happy to photograph it.
Canon 1DX II, 500F4 1/1250 F9, iso 800, Av mode, handheld.

A very neat shot, Nate.  Excellent job on the exposure.  You handled the "harsh" light very well.

Cool behavioral shot with really good detail in harsh light.  According to the people at the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, Pigeon Guillimots  have been spotted there but I have never seen them.
