16 degrees and snow and it was almost too warm for my gloves. A nice little junco came in close while the snow came down. K5 IIs, 300mm f4 (1/500 sec at f8, Iso 500) slight crop for comp, shafdows & highlights, Brightness & Contrast.....................Jim

The larger image really works well, Jim.  I love the composition.  It's interesting how this kind of image looks so much better when it's presented a bit larger.  At the 720 size I'd suggest more light on the junco, but in the larger size it works just fine as-is.

I find this to be a very pleasing image. Maybe because I have been trying without real success to get a similar photo of the juncos in my back yard.  I like the details and colors in the bird, as well as the plant stems leaning towards the junco.  Thanks for sharing.

A beautiful wintry scene and shot Jim.  My only suggestion would be to take a fraction off the bottom and a corresponding amount from the left side to remove the most out of focus branch at the very bottom.  Great image! devil

Nice pose from this little fellow. The colour of the branches and falling snow are great.
If mine, I might consider cloning out that lowest, OOF branch.
Sweet image!
