My one and only experience with aerial photography was on a flightseeing tour in Denali last summer. My wife and I ponied up the $$$ for an exclusive doors off flight from the park entrance to the mountain. Weather kept us from getting as close to Denali as we would have liked but we still saw the mountain and on the way came across this little blue gem of a lake. Perhaps not a profound image but one I have enjoyed. All comments welcome.>=))>

A spectacular POV for sure, Bill. The details in the landscape look great when opening the large version and the placement of the lake is perfect. Better seeing this from above rather than by the lake as the mosquitoes would have been all over you and your wife.  Great job on this.

Bill,

Most certainly a terrific viewpoint and a great job at capturing the lake - and it's surrounding elements.  The colors are wonderful.

If I had any suggestion it would be to perhaps burn down the left half of the boreal forest. Although I do notice the light is more direct, especially in the UL, where the light looks more diffused on the right side.  In any case, I think the luminosity could be dropped a skosh on the left.

Really enjoy the blue of the lake surrounded by those yellow-greens.

Nice aerial shot of this pond. The color is great and the comp is good. I like how you included all those trees on the right making this more than the just the pond. The rich texture and color helps balance the large circle. There are a couple of good shoals for northern pike that have probably never seen a lure.

Bill, This is great view of this small lake in the middle of the forest and I can see why you enjoy it. I agree the left side of the forest could be burned down a bit or worth a try anyway and see how it looks. I like the light here so I don't think I would want to do to much to it. I did a lot of doors off photography flights several years ago and it was always interesting and I enjoyed doing it.

BTW just to add to my previous comment.

The trees are all leaning to the right. Some are more bothered by this than others. Personally I think it adds more than detracts in this case. It adds tension and energy that flows diagonally across the image. And since this is shot from an airplane the viewer naturally accepts the different orientation as seen from a pilot. So it's a composition that's not of the subject but of the pilots view of the subject. I thought that was interesting and wanted to share.

Nice shot Bill. We often see abstraction by the photographer getting closer to the subject, but in this case you've achieved a degree of abstraction by getting further away from it. This shot is all about shapes, texture and colors, so I consider it an abstract in that sense. Agree with the comments about burning down the left half.

Very unique image, Bill. Beautiful mix of colors and composition looks good to me. I could see lightly burning down the brightness in the ULC.

Again, that tundra and those smaller evergreens look amazing to me. The aerial view is awesome too. And the blue lake just adds something more to the scene. Nice!
