Common Gallinule Posing

I have very few decent Gallinule images in my files, so thought I'd post one from Lake Martin I shot March 2011. Apart from hundreds of wading birds nesting there, these guys cruise around in a narrow strip of water that sometimes present themselves for pictures. Cropped from right to 4x5 aspect.

Beautiful, Bill.  I love the water and the reflection.  The exposure of and detail in the Gallinule are superb.  My only nit is that I wish you had a touch more canvas on the left.  Excellent work.

I really like the colors and details in the feathers!  Also the pose of the bird and the reflection.  Thanks for sharing.

I think this is the first time I've ever seen a Gallinule in the water and not in the brush.  Really good job on the colors and detail.  The water looks superb.
