Smalls Falls Overflow

Smalls Falls Overflow - western Maine. This was taken almost 10 years ago. It was an unusually harsh winter and the spring thaw came pretty fast. This was an awesome visual. The camera I was using was not as awesome but I would still like to share.

Nikon D80
125 Sec
F 5/6
200 ISO
18mm

What I would do differently is get more of the top of the image and more of the sides. I was lucky enough to stand on a small bridge the water was flowing under giving me a point on view as if the water was coming at me. It was not a safe place to stand so I set the camera on auto and took my best shot.

Norma, you "right there" view up the falls with that nice drop coming right at you at the bottom is quite dramatic.  As I always tell my photo classes, "A good picture is made by the photographer, not the camera."  I can hear the roar of the water racing through those steps in the distance.
