Marbled Godwit

In my experience the Canon EF 2X isn't as sharp as the 1.4X, but this turned out pretty well. Marbled Godwits are usually found here late fall through early spring, but rarely in the summer. This was one of a half dozen or so browsing around on the beach in Gulfport this afternoon. Cropped to about 95% of full frame.

I really like this image Bill.  The foot position, the detail, and the foamy advancing water make this image work quite well.

Looks like the 2.0 worked pretty well in this case, Bill.  Very good detail all around, including the beads of water falling off it's beak. Nice pose and a classic composition also.  Very nice capture!

Really nice.  I like the water dripping off the beak, and how you caught it in mid-stride.
