I have a chunk of bark attached to a support post for my feeder setup where I stuff peanuts or suet in a knothole.  Unfortunately, this Black-capped Chickadee chose to perch on the very edge of it and proceed to give me one of the cutest head turns I've ever encountered.  I played with replacing the post with a snowy background that I had to the left of the post, but I didn't like the results so I finally just settled for removing the marks in the post where they injected the preservative and let it go at that.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 388 mm, Jobu Gimbal on blind window, f/8, 1/200, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped from a horizontal original to 9.6 MP.  Taken yesterday at 9:31 am.

Your comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to view and comment.

You're right, Dennis. That BG won't win any rewards, but great detail in the bird, not to mention the pose. Nice light too.

Definitely an unusual pose but quite charming.  The crop is a little tight for me but based on what you had to do just to get the picture, I think this is as good as you're going to get.  Good detail and color on the Chickadee.

It's so cute, the BG doesn't bother me at all.  Chickadees are so darn cute!!  I was out shoveling snow from around the feeder area and putting out more  seeds and suet, and a whole bunch showed up and landed all around me, picking up the fresh seeds.  They are just adorable, and you really caught that in this image!
