Taken last week at Laguna Seca Ranch in south Texas.  The ranch had both the dramatically marked Long-billed Thrasher and its more subtly marked cousin the Curve-billed Thrasher.  Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon EF500mm f/4L IS II USM + 1.4X III at 700mm, manual exposure f/8 at 1/1250th, ISO 800.

Very interesting ground level image with nice detail, Charles. That eye contact is excellent.

Interesting species and lovely (lack of) colors, making the eye stand out so nicely ! Cheers, Hans

A nice, low level point of view, Chuck. Excellent detail.

Nice low angle and good eye contact.  Not sure that the OOF vegetation covering the tail adds to the image?

A real nice look this Long Billed  Thrasher.  I like the point of view, the detail and background.  If I were going to make any changes, I would move the image to the left by removing the closest branch  so that it is less centered.  I would then extend the canvas a little more to the right.

I like the low perspective. Techs look spot on. Well done.

Excellent low angle shot Chuck. I agree with David Schoen's crop suggestion to de-center the bird.  The color palette and eye contact make this for me. Well done!
