Male Varied Thrush II

Another from yesterday toward the end of my session. This one was further away and at the edge of the grasses which I thought made a very nice background in this instance. I liked the dynamic pose and decided he needed quite a bit of room to move into so I left it full height. The following frame just contained a tail and a couple of feet in the upper left corner.

7Dii, sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, tripod with ball head and Sidekick, f/8, 1/3200, iso 2500, aperture priority, pattern metering, +2/3 EV. Processed in LR & PS CC. Cropped just a bit off the right and did some tweaking of a couple of grass blades that for one reason or another seemed to draw the eye. Taken yesterday at 8:46 am.

Your comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated,

Thanks for taking a look,

Another fine shot of this colorful species, the pose makes the image! Techs are great, as usual. Greetings, Hans

Very cool pose. Great detail and color. I think your composition works very well. We had a flock of 30 Robins next door during the snowstorm but no other related species such as this one.

Great pose and the included habitat works well. I like your composition choice too Dennis. Don't remember ever seeing one of these before. Nice work!
